Yin Yoga in Ojai

A slow, seated practice that holds each shape for several minutes to reach the connective tissue beneath the muscle.

A seated yin yoga pose supported by a bolster

Yin Yoga is the quietest hour in our schedule. Postures are supported with bolsters and blocks and held for three to five minutes at a time, giving the body permission to soften instead of work.

What We Offer

  • Long-held floor postures fully supported by props
  • A slow pace with extended stillness between poses
  • Guidance on finding a supported, sustainable edge in each shape
  • A practice suited to tight hips, desk-bound shoulders and busy minds
  • A closing rest with dimmed lights and no instruction

How to Book

Book your Yin class on our site ahead of time; the room is set up with props before you arrive, so reserving a place lets us prepare your mat and bolster. Plan for about 75 minutes, including a longer closing rest than our more active classes.

Questions

Will I get bored holding one pose for minutes at a time?

Most students find the opposite — the stillness gives the mind somewhere to land once the first restlessness passes.

Is Yin suitable if I'm not flexible?

Yes. Every posture is supported by props, so the shape works with your body rather than asking it to stretch further than it wants to.
